Many SMEs face similar questions when using artificial intelligence (AI) applications: Which skills are really relevant today? How can AI applications be integrated into their own processes and what limitations need to be understood?
To simplify entry into the growing range of AI applications, Innovate Switzerland and the AI Business School have developed a free introductory AI course that addresses the key questions. The approximately 1.5-hour course is available in German, French and English and is aimed at employees in various roles within SMEs. It offers a compact introduction to the functioning and fields of application of AI. This is supplemented by practical exercises in which typical AI applications can be tried out directly on the platform – for example, structuring information, creating text drafts or using assistance tools such as Copilot.
A central component is an integrated ‘playground’ where participants can test AI tools in a protected learning environment without having to register separately. This allows them to experience first-hand which skills are important for the practical application of AI. These include the precise formulation of tasks, the critical examination of results and the embedding of AI support in existing work processes.
The learning content is modular and adapted to different roles within the company. This means that participants not only gain basic technical knowledge, but also guidance on how AI solutions can be used in their own work context. The course concludes with a certificate.
The offer is designed as a freemium entry point: the basic course remains free of charge, with the option of an in-depth course available afterwards via a paid subscription. For SMEs, this offers an opportunity to take their first steps in using AI with little effort and to develop their skills in a targeted manner.
